4th Telematics Insurance North America Returns To Chicago In April
Over the last few years, the insurance industry has focused on telematics as an enabler, for gathering huge amounts of driver behaviour and connected vehicle data. But, telematics is just the first piece. What else is going on? What does the continued evolution of technology and disruptive risks mean for the insurance industry, today and in the future? What else do Insurers need to start thinking about?
The 4th event in the Telematics Insurance North America series transitions in 2018, and moves away from seeing telematics as an enabler, to really focusing on where the industry is headed for Personal & Commercial vehicle insurance, what the next steps are going to be for managing new disruptive risks to existing insurance business models, and crucially, how telematics will connect in the bigger IoT landscape.
Agenda Focus On Day One
The US insurance industry is in agreement that there's a lot of distance to be gained in the commercial insurance space and telematics, although a very important topic, remains highly unrepresented. The industry has moved on from its position of 'maybe we'll look at it someday' to focusing on 'operationalization' and setting up immediate action to on-board new technologies and devices. The 2018 event sees leading insurers share success stories on how they have successfully implemented telematics programs to tap into a $30 billion market, while reducing clams severity, frequency and loss ratios. Day two also dig deeps into data management and analytics, delivering practical solutions for connecting multiple streams and types of data without replicating devices, and making use of data beyond rating. The second half of day one is purely dedicated to claims management and settlement case studies, with lessons learned for both personal and commercial vehicle insurers, rounding up with a look at the next-generation of telematics technologies for commercial vehicles, including ELDs, Video Telematics, Dash-Cams and more.
Agenda Focus On Day Two
Telematics has been pervasive in personal lines. But that now raises more complicated questions, not less. Day two kicks off with a look at real-world experiences, case studies and actual wins and losses in the personal lines space to establish business models that are working and help the second wave of insurers strategize, manage their portfolios and handle convergence. The personal lines case studies are backed by brand new topics, including AI as the epicentre of the connected car future, aligning autonomous vehicles and commercial insurance business models, insurance for new formats of mobility, Insurtech and IoT and OEM technology roadmaps on future connected vehicle technology and plans for collaboration and data sharing.
